Meet the Modlins

Simply Restored Handyman has been operating since January 2025, but its beginnings have been a story in the making for the last 11 years.

Ben was working for a building materials company, and Alexis (just is she still is to this day) was a stay-at-home mother. After being laid off from work and needing to find something quick, the Lord opened the door to work for Fullerton Tool Company here in Saginaw, MI. The pay was less than half of what they had been living off of, and needless to say, things were very tight monetarily. When it came to anything that needed fixed, whether it be the turn signal on their old van, or a faulty outlet that wouldn't hold a plug, they had no way to pay for any repairs. It was then that Ben decided to learn how to start fixing things on his own.

Over the years, God allowed different jobs, circumstances, and people to shape how the Modlin family were provided for and also the tools to run a successful business. Whether it was cleaning carpets for Stanley Steemer, understanding customer service and estimating for Fullerton Tool Company, building relationships and providing for people at the Saginaw Rescue, Mission, and learning gage calibration and managing the customer service and repair departments at InCal Technologies, all of it served a purpose that could only be seen later.

At the very end of 2024, after hoping to start some sort of business together for years, Ben and Alexis decided they would give the handyman business a try. The need for an honest, trustworthy and quality handyman seemed to be very prevalent, but little would they know just how big of a need it was. Starting on January 5th, 2025, the business had grown exponentially to the point where Ben and Alexis decided that this needed to be their full-time source of income. Just 8 short months later, they made the transition and the work has never stopped.

They've put their faith and trust in Jesus to through it all and He has never failed. And He never will.
